Hondenmanieren
In het januari-nummer van Hondenmanieren, staat deze behang-hond 041 afgebeeld in de Kunstenmakers-rubriek van Cela van Biesen.In de loop van de jaren hebben de behangbeesten van Inke behoorlijk wat publicaties gehaald, maar uit deze hoek is redelijk uniek :)
Misschien geen gek idee voor Spike, dit blad...

A cool way to use leftover bits of wallpaper.
Once again, another great idea from the very creative people from SiSi: Make your own christmas cards with leftover bits of wallpaper.
In the packaging of the wallpaper silhouettes, usually some extra bits of wallpaper are included to support the silhouette during transport. We have seen some creative use of these scraps before, but this particular one fits the season perfectly.

It's official: INKE™
Finally, after some dispute, the INKE™ trade mark has been granted! Under the registration number 008852386 the INKE™ brand has been officially recognized and therewith protected under European law.
Take that, some running-shoe manufacturer which we shall not name! :)

A wallpaper giraffe in the wild at Van Dijk & Ko
Today, I went to Van Dijk & Ko (Amsterdam) with the family to search for a cabinet for my oldest girl's room - and look what we spotted: A beautiful vintage sideboard, with an Inke Giraffe on it!
(yes, I suck at taking photos)
Seeing the old 001 wallpaper again turned an otherwise gloomy afternoon bright! Unfortunately this pattern has been out of stock for a while at Inke, but if you always wanted a giraffe in this particular pattern, now is the chance! (plus you get a unique vintage cabinet to go along with it).
Apart from being away from the rain for a while when you are spending summer weekends in NL, Van Dijk & Ko is a great place to spot rare vintage finds and authentic retro furniture. Sure worth a visit - also on sunny weekdays!

Awesome dollhouse wallpaper tree
Sunna, one of their clients, used some extra bits of the wallpaper to create this amazing little wallpaper tree for a dollhouse.
The life size wallpaper tree #1 doesn't look too bad in the "real" children's room either!
Proper respect to Sunna for this fantastic idea!

Fragile!
Something I have always suspected, turns out to be fact: Applying "Fragile!" stickers to your parcel is more of a challenge than a warning.From the article:
One disheartening result was that our package received more abuse when marked "Fragile" or "This Side Up." The carriers flipped the package more, and it registered above-average acceleration spikes during trips for which we requested careful treatment.

Sidenote: Paul and I came up with a similar idea for an experiment last year to send an accelerometer with a GPS module in a parcel around the world and see what the readouts would be. Never came to it, so we are glad Popular Mechanics did this test for us!

What a nice surprise by Rice (not)
What to think of this? We always admired Rice from Denmark for their quirky designs and business philosophy but when we saw their 2010 catalogue...
(Granted: They have eye for detail - watch the clothes line)
We know that there are a lot of people out there who think it's completely normal to rip off our designs, but it is a bit surprising when a respected designer brand like Rice comes with this.
