A cool way to use leftover bits of wallpaper.

Once again, another great idea from the very creative people from SiSi: Make your own christmas cards with leftover bits of wallpaper.

In the packaging of the wallpaper silhouettes, usually some extra bits of wallpaper are included to support the silhouette during transport. We have seen some creative use of these scraps before, but this particular one fits the season perfectly.

New Papers (sneak preview)

Jiphijahey: Paul and Jeroen just came back with a container full of "new" vintage wallpapers!

We will do our very best to quickly organise them into our warehouse / studio, scan and number them.
Hopefully we can put  the wallpapers online in the beginning of december!

My wall is higher than 2.60M. Can I still fit a Wallpaper tree?

Yes you can. The little "hill" is made out of wallpaper 066. If your room is over 2.6 meter high and you need to place the tree a bit higher, this is a perfect way to do so (or you can request some additional wallpaper in the same pattern as the trunk so you can make the tree itself a bit longer).

I want to know if the adhesive that comes with the silhouettes is safe for my nursery.

Yes, the adhesive is perfectly safe. We chose to use an ecological product that is not harmful in any way. It is made from high grade methylcellulose (which is a "natural" chemical derived from wood) without any additives or solvents.

The manufacturer Auro from Germany is renowned for their ecological paints and adhesives. If you are planning to make your nursery as eco-friendly as possible, be sure to check out their products.

Do you also sell whole rolls of wallpaper, or perhaps by the meter?

In some cases this is possible, if you send us an email which paper you are interested in, and how many rolls (or meters) you would like to have, we will get back to you quickly. Prices at request.

Can the silhouettes be applied over existing wallpaper?

Yes - provided that the original wallpaper is paper based (no vinyl) and glued evenly to the wall, without bubbles or loose bits.

If your wall is covered with fiberglass wallpaper (glasvlies/glasweefsel/Glasfaser Tapeten) you can also apply Inke's designs over it, but be aware that the embossing of the fiberglass will show through the silhouette (better not use the 074 (silver) or 075 (gold) wallpaper).

How can I remove the silhouettes later on, and can I reuse them in another room?

Because we use real (vintage) wallpaper, you can eventually remove the silhouettes the same way you would with ordinary wallpaper: By using steam and a damp sponge, the adhesive will dissolve again and the silhouette will come off.

Unfortunately (unless you are an art-restorator) you can probably not use the silhouette any more.

What's up with these vague color schemes with the wallpaper birds. Can't I just choose a pattern, like with all the other silhouettes?

For the birds we use far more (vintage) wallpapers than available for the other animal silhouettes. So to add a little surprise factor, you can choose from the color schemes Pink, Blue, Green, Orange - and recently - Brown.

Of course you can also state your preference for a particular pattern, but we cannot guarantee that these papers are available for the wallpaper birds.

Are the leaves exactly as shown on the inke.nl website?

Short answer: No :)

Because we use a lot of vintage wallpapers, the combinations that are shown can vary with each set we create. The overall effect of the selection will be the same, but each set is unique!
